About me.

Hello! I’m Jonah, a passionate musician, coach, and instructor delivering fun and friendly guitar, songwriting, and production lessons online and in person in Glasgow, Scotland.

Topics covered in my lessons include guitar fingerstyle and picked (electric and acoustic), composition, songwriting, music technology, arranging, production, creative practice, and instrumental practice skills.

The blend of coaching and teaching that I use in my lessons means that I let the student’s interests guide their path forward. I strive to create an environment where the student feels comfortable learning to solve the problems they are tackling on the instrument. I encourage this by asking insightful questions, giving the student time and space for trial and error, and encouraging mindful awareness of both the physical and mental aspects of playing / composing.

I then use my expertise to teach in areas that are less immediately obvious (e.g. theory) or if I feel that an element of the student’s playing may be detrimental to their long term progression.
